6 Life Lessons From Driving the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile

jennifer · May 28, 2013 ·

If you know me or this blog well enough, you know my first job after graduating from Syracuse University was driving the iconic Oscar Mayer Wienermobile.
I was a Hotdogger.
I traveled the southeastern part of the United States with two other recent college grads and auditioned kids to be in the next Oscar Mayer commercial. We mainly visited zoos, amusement parks, military bases and baseball parks.
For as long as I have been blogging, I’m not sure why I haven’t written about the experience.
Because, well, it was quite the experience.
Think about it. I drove a 22-foot long hotdog for a summer. That’s not normal.
In fact, it was quite amazing. Almost indescribable really.
Luckily, I cut the mustard that summer.
Luckily, I have Eli at the Coach Daddy blog hosting me today.
Because there was something about our connection over Garlic Parmesan Wings.
Or maybe I just had grilling on my mind, being Memorial Day weekend and all.
Whatever it was, this post was somehow meant to be over at Coach Daddy’s blog today.
I hope you will read it. Because it’s about time I wrote it.
I’m sharing 6 life lessons I learned from driving the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile.
There’s no way you can see the world the same after spending the summer behind the wheel of a fiberglass hotdog named Bologna.

I think I was at the Memphis Zoo in this picture.

I’ll ketchup with you later.
Warmly,
