Hump Day Haiku: Love Story Redux

jennifer · December 16, 2020 ·

If you’ve followed me for a while, you may remember my Love Story Haiku, published 3 years ago.

Since 2020 has given me some amazing perspective, I decided it was time to update the story. It’s an ongoing one, of course. As love is.

Rather than spread them out as I did before, I decided to give you 5 at once. I suspect there will be more in this series, because the story continues…

not love at all haiku

What she thought was love
was nothing but a pattern
and not love at all

trusted her gut haiku

She trusted her gut
And then reclaimed what was lost
Her strength never waned

free to be happy haiku

Broken from the chains
Rid of the Toxicity
Free to be happy

moral of the story haiku

The story’s moral:
Don’t ignore all the red flags
By trying to fix

Be selfish, be you
This is your story to write
True love is within
